Our story

The story of Miilu Resort and our related restaurant Miilu Bar & Grill began when three friends put their ideas together. 

We wanted to bring a restaurant next to the ski track, where the smell of coals burning in the grill fills the surroundings and the music playing inside takes the thoughts of visitors from further afield to different ends of the world 

A restaurant where it's easy to walk in, even if you're wearing overalls, and still enjoy a short or longer dinner.

Our food is suitable for sharing among a group of people at the table, or everyone can choose their favorite dishes from our a la carte list. We recommend the five-course seasonally changing Menu Miilu, for which our chefs have selected the best dishes from our restaurant. 

Classic cocktails, rarer whiskeys by the fireplace, a changing selection of wines and ice-cold beers. 

Friendly and adaptable service, time spent together and magical northern lights over Lake Ylläsjärvi.

We are hiring

We are looking for professional hall and kitchen staff for our high-quality restaurant Miilu Bar & Grill, which will be opened at the turn in December. Jobs are available by contract either for the winter season or permanently. The working hours are variable and you have the opportunity to work in the mornings, afternoons and evenings every day of the week. n your free time, you can take advantage of the company's ski pass, which allows you to ski on the wonderful slopes of Ylläs. 

If necessary, we will help with the purchase of an apartment.

The heart of Miilu's kitchen is the open-fire grill, where the homemade coals of the coal miilu glow. 

Miilu is a pit built for charcoal production. Miilu is used for dry distillation of wood, whereby the hardwood is heated in a closed, low-oxygen space and the wood burns incompletely. The miliu is usually covered with peat and pine cones and compacted carefully

Our food philosophy

The food is prepared from the beginning with the best ingredients of the season itself, and to complement the whole, we offer a wonderful selection of drinks. Our concept is based on open-fire grilled meats, whole fish, vegetables and various seafood, supported by side dishes and sauces from different cuisines around the world.

We make simple and tasty food with passion, always with a spark in the corner of our eyes.

Local Finnish food, the best domestic and foreign ingredients, always according to the season.

Grilled with real charcoal, smoked, playing with different flavors of the world, clean food.

Drinks

Our drink selection is bold and experimental. Stylish bubbles, great wines from small estates, international cocktails, fresh mocktails, local beers and, to top it all off, a unique whiskey selection. In addition to more traditional combinations, we encourage you to try combinations of whiskey and dishes prepared over an open fire.

Miilu Bar & Grill offers excellent conditions for meetings and staff days. A conference room for 20 people is at your disposal, and if necessary, you can reserve the entire restaurant for your event.
